Draw a base AB of 5cm and then a line from point C to B of 4cm that is perpendicular (90°) to the base AB. Then join A and C. AC will be equal to √41cm. Beacause AC is the hypotenuse so √AC= √AB+√BC(as A²+B²=C² according to pythagoros theorem, then AB²+BC²=AC². that is √AC= √AB+√BC)

So 5²+4²=41(25+16=41) so, √5²+√4=√41→→That is, →5+4=√41
