Applying the correct technique is important in using different tools while doing experiments inside or outside a science laboratory. KEEN OBSERVATION is one example of a process skill or technique needed to be applied always in order to acquire good data or information. One example is when a liquid substance isused with a graduated cylinder to record the line that the bottom of the meniscus touches. It is also applicable when using a ruler to align the tick mark at one centimeter with the left edge of the object. Another is with the use of a [triple or platform] beam balance to slide the masses to the right until the beam rests at the zero point. Last example is with the use of pH paper to notice which color it turns after it is dipped into a liquid – thus, knowing if a substance is an acid or a base.

All of these are just basic examples of using our OBSERVATION skills to execute an experiment well. Nevertheless, this skill should always be applied in our everyday lives wherever we go and whatever we do.
