2nd no. = 186

since, 252>186

so, divisor= 186 & dividend =252

so, using Euclid's division lemma (a=bq +r)

252 = 186 ×1 + 66

186 = 66 ×2 + 54

66 = 54 ×1 + 12

54 = 12 ×4 + 6

12 = 6×2 + 0

since, remainder=0

The divisor of the last step is the HCF of 252&186.
