Using Euclid's Division Lemma find out the HCF of 455, 42

Euclid's Division Lemma =

a = bq + r

Given Numbers = 455,42

Finding HCF (Highest Common Factor) :

455= 42×10+35

42=35×1+7

35=7×5+0

The required HCF is = 7.
