let the side of equilateral triangle be x

now according to herons formula

s=x+x+x/2=3x/2

S=S(s-a) (s-b) (s-c)

S=3x/2(3x/2-x) (3x/2-x) (3x-x)

s=3x/2×x/2×x/2×x/2

s=3/4x^2
