(x - 8)(x - 13) \\  =  {x}^{2}  + ( - 8 - 13) x+ 8 \times 13 \\  =  {x}^{2}  - 21 x+ 104

The identity will be used here is (x-a)(x-b)

=x^2+(-a-b)x+ab

So, applying the identity

(x-8)(x-13) = x^2+(-8-13)x+8 × 13

=>(x-8)(x-13) = x^2-21x+104
