using second law of motion derive the relation between force and acceleration . if A bullet of 10 gram strikes a sand bags at a speed of 500 m per second and gets embedded after travelling 5 cm find:- a) the resistive force exerted by the sand on the bullet. b) the time taken by the bullet to come at rest

According to second law of motion

Force is directly proportional to rate of change of momentum

so,

F ~ dp/dt

we know that momentum

p = mv

so,

F = d(mv)/dt = m[dv/dt]

thus, we get

F = ma
