Here is ur answer :

9.8 × 10.2

= ( 10 – 0.2) ( 10 + 0.2)

Using identity : ( a + b) ( a - b) = a² - b²

➡️(10)² – (0.2)²

➡️100 – 0.04

➡️99.96

Using \ suitable \ identities \ evaluate \ 9.8 \times 10.2 = 99.96

Given:

Evaluate (9.8 \times 10.2)

Solution:

(9.8 \times 10.2) = ((10-0.2) \times(10 + 0.2))

\Rightarrow((10 - 0.2) \times (10 + 0.2))

By using the identity given below, we get,

(a - b) (a + b) = a^{2} - b^{2}

\Rightarrow \left(10^{2} - 0.2^{2}\right)

\Rightarrow (100 - 0.04)

\Rightarrow 9.8 \times 10.2 = 99.96

Identity means that identity is an "equality" between "functions" that are differently defined and get the value from that functions.
