Formula:

(a + b)²  = a²  + 2ab + b²

(a - b)²  = a²  - 2ab + b²

Question a:

(2x+3y)² = (2x)² + 2(2x)(3y) + (3y)²

(2x+3y)² = 4x² + 12xy + 9y²

Question b:

(103)² = (100 + 3)²

(103)² = (100)² + 2(100)(3) + 3²

(103)² = 10000 + 600 + 9

(103)² = 10609

Question c:

(4q-3p)²  = (4q)² - 2(4q)(3p) + (3p)²

(4q-3p)²  = 16q² - 24pq + 9p²

Question d:

(4.9)²  = (5 - 0.1)²

(4.9)² = (5)²  - 2(5)(0.1) + (0.1)²

(4.9)² = 25  - 1 +  0.01

(4.9)² = 24.01
