using the SONAR, sound pulses are emitted at the surface of water. These pulses after being reflected from bottom of water, are detected. If the time interval from the emission to the speed of the sound pulses is 2 seconds, find the depth of the water

if the speed of sound in water is taken 1500m/sec
d =TV/2
=2 *1500/2
=1500m(approx)

let the depth of the water be x
velocity of sound in water = 1500m/s
time interval from emission to the speed of the sound pulse = 2 sec

thus, depth x = velocity * time interval÷2
= 1500m/s * 2sec ÷2
= 1500 m
