Equation:

==> + 7x + 10 = 0

On comparing:

a = 1 ; b = 7 ; c = 10

We know,

</p><p>\boxed{x = \frac{ -b \pm \sqrt{b^{2} - 4ac}}{ 2a } } </p><p>

 =  =  &gt;  \:  \:  \frac{ - 7 \pm  \sqrt{{7}^{2}   - 4 \times 1 \times 10}}{2 \times 1}  \\  \\  =  =  &gt;  \:  \:  \frac{ - 7 \pm \:  \sqrt{9} }{2}

Case - ( +ve )

 =  =  &gt;  \:  \:  \frac{ - 7 + 3}{2}  \\  \\  =  =  &gt;  \:  \:  \frac{ - \cancel{ 4}}{ \cancel{2}}  \\  \\  =  =  &gt;  \:  \:  - 2

x = -2

Case - ( -ve )

 =  =  &gt;  \:  \:  \frac{ - 7 - 3}{2} \\  \\  =  =  &gt;  \:  \:  \frac{ -  \cancel{10}}{ \cancel{2}}   \\  \\  =  =  &gt;  \:  \:  - 5

x = -5

Answer:

x^2+7x+10=0

a=1,b=7,c=10

D=b^2 -4ac

=(7)^2-4×1×10

=49 - 40

=9

✓D =✓9

=3

alpha= -b+✓D/2a

= -7+3/2

= -4/2

= -2

beta= -b-✓D/2a

= -7-3/2

= -10/2

= -5
