Usually, it is observed that climates in coastal regions are moderate as compared to climates in the interiors of continents because water bodies like the  oceans are present nearer to the coastal regions.

Where in the  case of  the interiors of the continents the water bodies are present far which does not get influenced due to the oceans.

Water influences or affects the climate of the surrounding because it has a higher heat capacity than soil and rock.
