Answer

Both mosquitoes and lizards cannot survive when the temperature dips because they are cold-blooded reptiles and insects.

Explanation

In simple words, as these are cold-blooded creatures, these reptiles cannot warm their blood and body themselves thus requiring heat from their good habit or environment.

But still, mosquitoes lay an egg which hatches once the warmth comes, and also the lizards try to stay warm by finding hibernating in tree trunks, below the rocks, or in soil

Mosquitoes always prefer a wet humid environment.

Hence they cannot live in an extremely cold environment.
