1. The Prairies are located in the heart of a continent. Therefore, the climate is of continental type with extreme temperatures. The summers are warm, with temperatures of around 20oC and winters are very cold with temperatures of around -20oC. ... In winters, a thick blanket of snow covers this region.

2. The people in Prairies have two major occupations. They are dairy farming and agriculture. Wheat production is also done here at an extensive form with modern equipment and technology. The main occupations of the people in the Veld are grazing of cattle ad sheep, dairy farming ad gold mining.
