The three rivers of our country, India are the Ganges, Indus, and Brahmaputra.

• The Ganges originates in the Himalayas in Uttarakhand. It flows in the southeast direction irrigating the Gangetic Plain, meeting the Bay of Bengal.
• Indus also known as the Sindhu River originates in the Tibetan Plateau flowing in the Indian regions of Jammu & Kashmir then in Pakistan merging with the Arabian Sea.

• The Brahmaputra or the Siang River forms in Mount Kailash, Tibet flowing through the Himalayas into Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and parts of Bangladesh before emptying in the Bay of Bengal.
