Consider equation (3)

v2 = u2 + 2as

[L.H.S] = [v2 ] = (LT-1 )2 = L2 T-2

[R.H.S] = [u2 ] + [as] = L2 T-2 + L2 T-2 = L2 T-2

[R.H.S] = [L.H.S] \ equation (3) is possibly correct.

NOW, WE CAN PROVE IT DIMENSIONALLY
SEE BELOW,

[ M^0 L¹ T^-1]² = [ M^0 L¹T^-1]² + [ M^0 L¹ T^-2] [ M^0 L¹ T^0 ]

(L¹ T^-1)² = (L¹ T^-1)² + (L¹ T^-2 ) (L¹)
R.H.S =( L¹ T^-1 )² + L² T^-2)
= ( L¹ T^ -1 )² + (L¹ T^-1)²
=( L¹T^-1)²=L.H.S

L.H.S= R.H.S
