The valency of the Element X is 3
So,
There are in all 3 atoms in its valence shell.

Element X wants to lose 3 electrons to attain the electronic configuration of the nearest noble gas.

Thus, it's valency will be 3+

Now ,

Oxygen has atomic number =8

The electronic configuration of Oxygen will be as follows :-

2,6

Now ,

The nearest noble gas is neon with electronic configuration :-
2,8

So,

Oxygen will require 2 more electrons to attain the noble gas configuration.

Thus,
It will gain 2 electrons.

Thus, valency of Oxygen will be 2-

When,

X and Oxygen will react it will form the oxide of Element X.

The chemical formula will be as follows :

x_2o_3
