King Porus was considered to be one of the greatest warrior and king of ancient India. In 326 BC a great battle was fought between King Porus and Alexander the Great near the River Jhelum.

This famous battle is called the Battle of Hydaspes. The Greek won the battle but the valor and behavior depicted by King Porus won Alexander’s heart and therefore the former was given back his kingdom and re-established as the ruler.
