There were only two main kinds of grains developed at the time of green revolution:-
1) Rabi crop like wheat
2) Kharif crop like rice
Rest you know the extensive agricultural techniques were used like fertilisers, herbicides, pesticides, high yielding variety seeds etc.
Technologies also came into play to increase the output like tractors.

Because rice and wheat are less expensive and most of the people eat ŕice and wheat
