The energy requirements for the various life processes comes from the food we eat mainly carbohydrates , proteins and fats. These are broken down into simpler compounds during digestion and the energy released is stored in the form of molecule called ATP . It is stored in mitochondria.
The mitochondria exists in every cell of our body . They are considered the cells power plant , supplying the energy to carry all the cells job .
Each cell contains up to 1000 mitochondria. The mitochondrian produce ATP ( adenosine triphosphate )
