Answer:

(hint: convert all the quantities to the same unit)

amount of rice that Varsha bought = 7 kg

amount of wheat that Varsha bought = 1 kg 500 g = 1.5 kg

total amount of grains that Varsha bought = 7 kg + 1.5 kg = 8.5 kg

amount of rice that Rita bought = 4000 g = 4 kg

amount of wheat that Rita bought = 3 kg 600 g = 3.6 kg

total amount of grains that Rita bought = 4 kg + 3.6 kg = 7.6 kg

which of them bought more grains?

since, 8.5kg (Varsha's grains) > 7.6kg (Rita's grains)

therefore, Varsha bought more grains than Rita.
