 \huge\bold{\purple{\fbox {\pink{\mathbb{ANSWER}}}}}

\bold{\longmapsto}a-b=12

\bold{\longmapsto}12-5/8-1/4=11.125km

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀OR

\bold{\longmapsto}1/4 × 12= 3

\bold{\longmapsto}5/8 × 12=7.5

\bold{\longmapsto}7.5 + 3 = 7.8

\bold{\longmapsto}12.0 - 7.8= 4.2

\bold{\implies}Therefore he is 4.2 km away from town B.

Answer:

4.25 km

Step-by-step explanation:

Total distance = 12 km

by bus = 5/8

=> 12×5/8 => 7.5 km

also 1/4 km by car

means => 250 m

=> total traveled distance => 7500m + 250 m

=> 7750 m

remaining distance => 12 - 7.75

=> 4.25 k.m
