Let the vehicle cover a distance of x km in 5 litres of petrol

This is a direct variation so,

=43.2/2.4=x/5

=x=43.2*5/2.4

=90km

Therefore,the vehicle  will travel 90 km in 5 litres of petrol.

Let the petrol required to cover a distance of 216km be x

This is a direct variation so,

=43.2/2.4=216/x

=2.4*216/43.2

=12 litres

Therefore, the vehicle  will need 12 litres of petrol to travel a distance of 216 km.
