The angle of incidence of ray of light traveling from water to diamond issin^-^1(1.1)

Explanation:

Velocity of light in medium, v = V/n

where n is the refractive index of the medium.

Given, v = (5/12) V.

So, (5/12) V = V/n

n = 12/5, ( for diamond).

Similarly for water,

refreacive index, N = 4/3.

To calculate the angle of incidence, Use Snell's law of refraction:

N (sin i)=n(sinr)

Here i is the angle of incidence and r is the angle of refraction.

Given r = 30 degree.

substitute the values, we get

\frac{4}{3}sini=\frac{12}{5}sin30^0

sini=\frac{10}{9}

Thus, the angle of incidence of ray of light traveling from water to diamond issin^-^1(1.1) .
