have a permanent source of incoem. It gets its essential income by the device of taxation. Govern-
ment must increase its income and the only way to do this is by devising further means of taxation.
Two types of taxes are exist that are direct and Indirect. Direct taxes are those such as income tax,
excess profit tax and death duty, in which the taxpayers pay his contribution direct to the govern-
ment. Indirect taxes such as tobacco sales tax and entertainment tax are paid by the taxpayer when
he buys certain goods or services.
