Heya !!!
P(X) => 0
8X³-8X+9 = 0
P(1/2) => 0
=> 8 × (1/2)³ - 8 × 1/2 + 9 = 0
=> 8 × 1/8 - 4 + 9 = 0
=> 1 - 4 + 9 = 0
=> 10 - 4
=> 6
Remainder isn't 0 so 1/2 is not a factor of Polynomial 8X³-8X+9
Again,
X = -3/2
P(X) => 8X³ - 8X + 9
P(-3/2) => 8 × (-3/2)³ - 8 × -3/2 + 9 = 0
=> 8 × (-27)/8 + 12 + 9 = 0
=> -27 + 12+9
=> -27 + 21
=> -6
Remainder isn't 0 in both the cases so 1/2 and -3/2 is not a factor of the polynomial 8X³-8X+9
