Use discriminant here..

D=0 means two equal and real zeroes.

D>0 real and distinct zeroes

D<0 no real zeroes

Here in this case

D=(-4)^2-(4)(5)

D=16-20

since D<0 hence it has no real roots

Ironspidey: i mean my question
shashankavsthi: It's better to ask your teacher. because I m unable to solve it since you don't know basics.
Ironspidey: ok thanks
Ironspidey: can u say me basics
Ironspidey: p(x)=x^2-4x+5.
Ironspidey: let p(x)=0
Ironspidey: x^2-4x+5=0
Ironspidey: x^2+x-5x+5=0
Ironspidey: x(x+1)-5(x-1)=0
Ironspidey: so,there are no zeros for p(x)
