- Verify that
(i) 4 is a zero of the polynomial, p(x) = x - 4.
(ii) -3 is a zero of the polynomial, 9(x) = x+3.
(iii) is a zero of the polynomial, f(x) = 2 - 5x.
(iv) 7 is a zero of the polynomial, g(y) = 2y +1

Answer:

(i) p(x) = x - 4

p(4) = 4 - 4 = 0

(ii) q(x) = x + 3

q(-3) = -3 + 3 = 0

(iv) g(y) = 2y + 1

g(7) = 2×7 + 1 = 15

So, (i) and (ii) are verified. But (iv) is not verified, i.e. 7 is not a zero of g(y).

And you haven't written the question (iii) correctly.

Hope this answer helps you...

Answer:

Hi buddy this will be your answer.

  1. 4 + x = 0 \\ x = - 4

p(x) = x - 4 \\ p( - 4) = ( - 4) - 4 \\ p( - 4) = ( - 4) - 4 \\ p( - 4) = - 8

2.

 - 3 + x = 0 \\ x = 3

9(x) = x + 3 \\ 9(3) = 3 + 3 \\ 9(3) = 6

4.

7 - y= 0 \\ y = - 7

g(y) = 2y + 1 \\ g( - 7) = 2( - 7) + 1 \\ g( - 7) = - 14 + 1 \\ g( - 7) = - 13
