no its not. The roots are -1,-3.
 x^{2} +4x+3=0
 x^{2} +3x+1x+3=0
x(x+3)+1(x+3)=0
x+1=0 or x+3=0
x=-1 or x=-3

The given equation is  x^{2} +4x+3 =0
so substitute the values of x which are given in the question if they satisfy then they are roots of the equation .
