Answer:

x \: - ( - y) \: = \: x \: + \: y \\ \\ x \: + \: y \: = \: x \: + \: y \\ \\

For -2 and -3,

-2 + -3 = -2 + -3

-5 = -5

For 4 and 8,

4 + 8 = 4 + 8

12 = 12

Given:

◕ x-(-y) = x + y

Solution:

when x= -2 and y= -3

x-(-y)=x+y

→(-2)-(-(-3))= (-2)+(-3)

→-2-3 = -2-3

→-5 = -5

Hence verified.

Now,

when x = 4 and y =8

x-(-y) = x+y

→(4)-(-8) = 4+8

→4+8 =4+8

→12 = 12

Hence Verified.
