4x+2y = 2x+3y+4 (opposite sides of a

rectangle are equal)

Eq. 1

2x+y+2 = 3x-y+3 (opposite sides of a

rectangle are equal)

Eq. 2

Solving 1,

2x = y+4

y = 2x-4

Solving 2,

2y = x+1

Substituting the value of y from Eq. 1 to Eq. 2,

2(2x-4) = x+1

4x-8 = x+1

3x = 9

x = 3

Putting the value of x in Eq. 1,

y = 2(3)-4

y = 6-4

y = 2

x = 3 and y = 2
