GivEn :

  • Marks scored by Vicky in English = 75%

  • Marks scored by Vicky in Maths = 66.7 %

  • Maximum no. of marks of both the papers = 120

  • Maximum no. of marks in Sanskrit = 100

  • Vicky scores overall 65% .

To find :

  • No. of marks he scored in Sanskrit (in percentage) = ?

SoluTion :

Conversion of % into marks,

1] Marks of Vicky in English :

\sf : \implies \: \: \: \dfrac{75}{100} \times 120 \\ \\ \\

\sf : \implies \: \: \: \dfrac{75 \times 12}{10} \\ \\ \\

\sf : \implies \: \: \: \dfrac{900}{10} \\ \\ \\

\sf : \implies \: \: \: { \underline{ \boxed{ \sf { \purple{90 \: marks}}}}} \\ \\

2] Marks of Vicky in Maths :

\sf : \implies \: \: \: \dfrac{66.67}{100} \times 120 \\ \\ \\

\sf : \implies \: \: \: \dfrac{66.67 \times 12}{10} \\ \\ \\

\sf : \implies \: \: \: \dfrac{800 }{10} \\ \\ \\

\sf : \implies \: \: \: { \underline{ \boxed{ \sf{ \orange{80 \: marks}}}}} \\ \\

⠀⠀━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Total Marks of all the subjects :

:\implies \sf \: \: \: 120 + 120 + 100 \\ \\ \\

:\implies \sf \: \: \: 240 + 100 \\ \\ \\

:\implies \sf \: \: \: { \underline{ \boxed{ \sf{ \blue{ \: 340 \: marks }}}}} \\ \\

⠀⠀━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Also it is given that,

Vicky scores overall 65% :

: \implies \sf \: \: \: \dfrac{65}{100} \times 340 \\ \\ \\

: \implies \sf \: \: \: \dfrac{65 \times 34}{10} \\ \\ \\

: \implies \sf \: \: \: \dfrac{2210}{10} \\ \\ \\

: \implies \sf \: \: \: { \underline{ \boxed{ \sf{ \red{ 221 \: marks}}}}} \\ \\

⠀⠀━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Therefore,

  • Marks in Sanskrit = 221 - 90 - 80 = 51 Marks

No. of marks(%) he scored in Sanskrit :

:\implies \sf \: \: \: \dfrac{51}{100} \times 100 \\ \\ \\

:\implies \sf \: \: \: { \underline{ \boxed{ \bf{ \purple{ \: 51 \: \% \: }}}}} \: \bigstar \\
