Cooking should not always be a feminine activity. In this modern world where both men and women are equal, in terms of social position and equality among the society, cooking should not be seen only as an activity for the females. Cooking is equally important to males as it is equally important to females.
Should cooking be only a feminine activity?
I strongly believe cooking should not be a feminine activity. We are living in era of gender parity. People all across the world are sloughing off anti-women practices. Each reform is pro-women. People, Government, organizations, etc. are all raising their voice for gender equality.
The girls growing in this new era of freedom are quite vociferous for their rights. They now insist on their brothers to share the burden of doing household and kitchen chores. They can be heard responding with, ‘Why me only?’ when asked to make a cup of tea or do the dishes in the kitchen.
It is quite a healthy sign for the freedom of girls which has been allegedly suppressed for decades in the past. It is quite logical that boys who enjoy so many rights and privileges in all societies, must learn to lend helping hand at home. They must learn to make tea, coffee, some dishes along with learning to do dishes, wash clothes, clean the rooms, etc.
This will not help them learn some household skills, but make them self-reliant in life. They will be able to look after their own needs in case they have to live away from their families.
Time has come now, when males and boys should start learning the kitchen work and other household chores.
