Given:

The capacitance of an ideal capacitor is 2uF.

To find:

Reactance when applied alternating emf is 1000Hz?

Calculation:

Capacitive Reactance will be :

 \rm \: \chi_{C} =   \dfrac{1}{ \omega \times C}

 \rm  \implies\: \chi_{C} =   \dfrac{1}{ 2\pi f \times C}

 \rm  \implies\: \chi_{C} =   \dfrac{1}{ 2\pi  \times 1000 \times (2 \times  {10}^{ - 6}) }

 \rm  \implies\: \chi_{C} =   \dfrac{1}{ 4\pi   \times  {10}^{ - 3} }

 \rm  \implies\: \chi_{C} =   \dfrac{1000}{ 4\pi }

 \rm  \implies\: \chi_{C} = 79.57 \: ohm

So, capacitive reactance is 79.57 ohm.
