So till now the ages are correct :
The age difference is 3 and Vikas is 3 years older.

But this was 6 years ago.
Now, They have :
1+6=7 years (Deepika)
4+6=10 years (Vikas)

let the age of vikas be x

let the age of Deepika be y.

x=y+3.............................1

x-6=4(y-6)

x-6=4y-24

x-4y=-18..........................2

putting the value of x in 2.

y+3-4y=-18

-3y=-21

y=-21/-3

y=7

putting the value of y in 1

x=7+3

x=10

Hence the age of vikas is 10

and age of deepika is 7
