SOLUTION :

Vineet wants to polish the floor

The length of the floor = 140 cm = \frac{140}{100} m = 1.4 m

The breadth of the floor = 120 cm = \frac{120}{100} m = 1.2 m

The polishing is done on the area

[  ∴ 1 m  = 100 cm  ]

[ the cm is converted into m because the charge of polishing the area is in m ]

As, the floor has two different side

so, its a rectangular floor

Now,

Area of the rectangular floor = (lb) unit square

[ In which l is the length and b is the breadth ]

Area of the rectangular floor = 1.4 × 1.2 m sq.

Area of the rectangular floor = 1.68 m sq.

If the cost of polishing 1 m sq. = Rs 52

Than,

The cost of polishing the rectangular floor

= 1.68 × 52

= Rs 87.36

Hence,

Vineet will charge Rs 87.36 for polishing the floor
