The legend was born on 5th November 1988 and raised in Uttam Nagar in Delhi. His mother's name is Mrs. Saroj Kohli, a housewife, and his father's name was Mr. Prem Kohli, a late criminal lawyer. He is the current captain of the Indian Cricket Team. His elder brother's and sister's names are Vikas Kohli and Bhavna Kohli respectively. He played his first match for Delhi U-15 Team in 2002. When people ask his family about how he started playing cricket, they say that when he was 3-year-old, he would pick up his bat, swinging it in the air, and ask his dad to bowl to him. He started his education from the Vishal Bharti Public School. He had also joined the West Delhi Cricket Academy in 1998, when he was just a 9-year-old child.
