Hi,

Your question:Visit a nearby hospital and collect information about how waste is managed.

My answer:
Hospital wastes include hazardous waste materials like infectious swabs, chemicals, expired pharmaceuticals, radioactive items, surgical wastes, and other administrative wastes.

Upon visiting a nearby hospital, their plan of managing the wastes was studied.

1. The hazardous and non-hazardous wastes are first separated into color-coded bins.

2. The hazardous and non-hazardous wastes are transported from the hospital to separate disposal areas through specialized carts and trucks.

3. The manual work-force handling the wastes are trained thoroughly.

4. A team of nurses and doctors are always ready to treat the cleaners in case they hurt themselves while collecting sharp needles or glassware from the wastes.

5. The whole staff, including the students and heads of the department, are expected to be responsible towards the proper handling of healthcare waste.

Hope it helps!

Hospital or healthcare wastes include syringes, chemicals, medicines, radioactive items, contaminated plastic bags.

There are multiple ways to degrade or manage hospital wastes since it is an amalgam of every type of materials.

First step is the separation of each and every item on the basis of its nature. Different colors of bags are used for this purpose.

Then these bags are transported to waste management companies which process the deterioration this waster material depending upon its type.
