Viwe throws some stones from the top of a cliff. The path of the stone can be modelled by the parabola f(x)= -x2/9 + 3x+ 10 where x is the horizontal distance covered by the stone and point A is the height, in metres, above the ground from which the stone is thrown (i.e. the top of the cliff). The figure shows the path of the stone from the top of the cliff at A when Viwe throws it, to when it hits the ground at B.
