Voltage and current in an ac circuit are given by  v=5sin \bigg \lgroup 100 \pi t-\frac{\pi}{6} \bigg \rgroup  \hspace{3} and \hspace{3} I=4sin \bigg \lgroup 100 \pi t+\frac{\pi}{6} \bigg \rgroup  \hspace{3}
(a) Voltage leads the current by 30°
(b) Current leads the voltage by 30°
(c) Current leads the voltage by 60°
(d) Voltage leads the current by 60°

Correct Answer is option C: Current leads the voltage by 60°

Given :

φ2=π/6

φ1=- π/6

Phase difference Δφ=φ2−φ1

=π/6−(−π/6)

=π/3

∴Current leads the voltage by 60°
