Given :

  • we have dv/dt = 9 cm³/s
  • l = 10 cm
  • volume of cube (v) = l³

To find :

  • how far its surface area

Solution :

dv/dt = d/dt(l³) = 9

3l³ = dl/dt = 9

dl/dt = 3/l³ ......... ..(1)

and surface area of cube (A) = 6l³

dA/dt = d/dt (6l²)

= 12l(dl/dt)

= 12l x 3/l² ..........(from 1)

= 36/l

= 36/10

= 3.6 cm²/s

=> 3.6 cm²/s far its surface area
