volume of Co2 at STP formed = 0.224 Liters or 224 ml

Explanation:

Given

volume of H2SO4 = 100 ml

molarity of H2SO4 = 0.1 M

volume of CO2 = ??

Solution

from chemical reaction

H2SO4 + Na2CO3 ---------> Na2SO4 + CO2 + H2O

As  Na2CO3 is in excess,

thus, problrm is related to H2SO4

100 ml of 0.1 M H2SO4 = 100 x 0.1

100 ml of 0.1 M H2SO4 =10 mmole

1 mole (1000 mmole) of H2SO4 will liberate = 1 mole of CO2

1 mole of CO2  = 44 g or 22.4 Liter CO2

therefore

10 mmole H2SO4 liberate  = 22.4 x 10/1000

10 mmole H2SO4 liberate = 0.224 Liters or 224 ml
