volume = 4620cm^2

height h = 10cm

volume of cone = πr^2h/ 3

πr^2h/ 3 = 4620

22(r)^2 × 10 /7× 3 = 4620

r^2 = 4620× 21/ 220

r^2 = 441 => r = √441

r = 21 cm

Answer: radius of its base = 21cm

Radius of base of cone is 21 cm.

Given:

  • Volume of cone is 4620 cm³.
  • Height (h) is 10 cm.

To find:

  • Radius of base of cone.

Solution:

Formula to be used:

Volume of cone \bf =  \frac{1}{3} \pi \:  {r}^{2} h \:  {unit}^{3}  \\

Step 1:

Write all given values.

V= 4620 cm³

h=10 cm

Step 2:

Put the values in formula of volume.

 \frac{1}{3}  \times  \frac{22}{7}   \times {r}^{2}  \times 10 = 4620 \\

or

 {r}^{2}  =  \frac{4620 \times 3 \times 7}{22 \times 10}  \\

or

cancel the common factors

 {r}^{2}  = 21 \times 21 \\

or

\bf r = 21 \: cm \\

Thus,

Radius of base of cone is 21 cm.
