Voting is our first step for nation building:
Voting is a process of choosing a leader, or taking a decision acceptable by the majority. There are two bodies in the process of voting, one is the electing body called electorate and the other who is elected is called the elected representative.
Voting plays a crucial role in a Democratic country like ours, where every adult i.e above the age of 18 years gets their chance to choose their elected representative. It is through the process of Voting the members of state legislative assembly and the Members of Lok Sabha are chosen. These people are directly elected by people and hence, they are called people’s representatives.
It is the people’s representatives who make policy decision regarding the Nation and the people. These policies effect the Nation and people in every aspect.
Voting is a right that shouldn’t be neglected or misused, because if we choose someone who is unfit to the position of elected representative, he/she might fail to take best policy decisions and this effects the nation. Hence, voting is a very important step in the process of nation building, as the progress of a nation depends on the policies it chooses, and the policies depend on the abilities of the elected representatives who are chosen by Voting. Hence, Voting is the first step in the process of nation building.
