W hy do some plant cella have air stored in them?

Some plants specially aquatic plants have the cells with air filled. This is due to provide the BUOYANCY to the plants so that they would be able to float on water.

Cells are called the structural and functional unit of life and hence the fundamental unit of life because all the living organisms are made up of cells and all the functions that take place inside the organisms are performed by cells.
