1. An object is moving in a circular path of radius 3.5m. If it
completes one full cycle, what will be the displacement and what is
the distance travelled?
2. An object changes its velocity from 30 ms 7 to 40 ms in a time
interval of 2s. What is its acceleration?
3. An object at rest starts moving. It covers a distance of 2m
in one second. It covers a further distance of 5 m in two
seconds in the same direction. What is its average velocity and
acceleration?

Answer:

1. radius of circular path=3.5m

if it completes one cycle then it returns to initial position ,therefore its displacement is 0m

distance covered =circumference of the circular path =2πr =2×22/7×3.5 =22m

2. initial velocity,u =30m/s

final velocity,v =40m/s

time,t=2s

acceleration,a =?

a=v-u/t

=40-30/2

=5m/s^2

3. initial velocity,u=0m/s

Let first distance covered be d1 and the further distance be d2

let the time taken to cover d1 be t1 and d2 be t2

then d1 =2m ,t1=1s

and d2=5m and t2=2s

Now , average velocity =total distance travelled /total time taken

=d1+d2/t1+t2

=2m+5m/1s+2s

=7m/3s

=2.33m/s

acceleration =average velocity/total time taken

=7/3 ÷3s

=7/6m/s^2

=1.17m/s^2
