IT is difficult to walk on dry sand because dry sand have less friction.

as we pressed against the sandy ground

in backward direction.the sand gets pushed away and we get very small reaction from the ground makes it difficult to walk on sand.

Explanation:

It is difficult to walk on dry sand because the sand doesn't contains moisture and the sand particles are very loosely packed if we step into sand our leg goes into it for every step it will be like that so it is difficult to walk on dry sand
