Debit & Credit rule is:

  • Debit the expense and loss
  • Credit the income and gain

As per that, the entry will be as follows:

We know that wages / salary is an expense hence it will be debit and as it is paid in cash , cash will be credit.

Hence, the entry is:-

Wage a/c. Dr. 2000

To cash. a/c 2000

( being wages paid ₹2000/-)
