Newton's first law of motion
Newton's first law of motion states that " every body continues in the same state of rest or in the same state of uniform motion " if it does not experience any other external force ."
Example :
- A car will move in the same speed if no brakes are applied and if no acceleration is done.
- A pendulum clock without external force will do the same type of motion.
- A train will move the same distance in the same time when no external force is applied .
Second law of motion
The second law states that the rate of change of momentum is directly proportional to the applied force.
m ( v - u ) is directly proportional to F .
Hence F = m a
This is also another concept that Force is inversely proportional to time experiencing the force.
For example :
- if we experience a force of 2 N in our hand for 0.02 s , it may hurt more than if it was experienced for 0.5 s .
- Thus while catching a ball , the fielder moves little backwards to increase the time.
- Thus when a glass body falls on carpet it does not break but when it falls on tiles it may break.
Third law of motion.
This states that every action has an equal and opposite reaction.
Example :
- when we kick a ball , the force exerted at the ball equals the force overcome by our foot.
- when we push the wall , we experience a force against us .
- a horse pulls the cart using this law .
- when we slap someone , the same force is felt on the hands.
Newtons first law of motion:
An object remains in a state of rest or of uniform motion in a straight line unless acted upon by an external unbalanced force.
Newtons second law of motion:
The rate of change if momentum of an object is proportional to the applied force in the direction of the force.
Newtons third law of motion :
To every action , there is an equal and opposite reaction and they act on two different bodies.
