It is cold in Polar regions because polar regions receive less solar radiation than the other parts of Earth. and equatorial area receive more and direct sunlight.
I hope it helps you.

Warm in Equatorial region and cold in polar region but cold in polar region:

  • It depends on sun’s energy. When sun is overhead at equator. It is rather slanted angle at poles.
  • The incidence angle of sun rays at polar region is lowest.
  • The solar energy come in equatorial region is greater than in equal area at the poles.
  • Reflection by earth’s surface and absorption and scattering of sunshine is also a factor of warm in Equatorial region and cold in polar region.
